Real women. Real men. Real lives.
Hello and welcome to the site of Sue Bordley - and, as I'm sometimes known, Jess Molyneux. I've been telling other people's stories for three years now: this is mine.
My life as an author began because as a reader, I was disillusioned by the reading material available. It seemed there was no middle ground between forgettable froth or depressing tales of tragedy. Neither had anything I could relate to, and usually left me feeling let down as a woman. I wanted enjoyable, lighthearted books to kick back with in my free time, but which presented women positively as capable, intelligent beings, rather than shopping-obsessed, prosecco-glugging morons. There weren't any books that fitted the bill, so I wrote my own.
IN THE PRESS
It's always a pleasure to talk about my books on the radio, and I've been lucky enough to be asked to do so on several occasions, including BBC Radio Merseyside (when I was invited to the studio) and BBC Radio 5 Live- when I was in my pyjamas!
I regularly have poems published in anthologies; my favourite of them all has been 'The Quality of Mersey'. As part of this project, I had the opportunity to perform at literary festivals and Waterstones, and was invited to take part in the making of a short film about the project, due for release in October 2020.
